Meisjes D8 (BSN)- Noordwijk MD5 : 0 - 2

Hockey Report
Saturday 8th September 2018

On Saturday, Forscate team MD8 had their first ever hockey match as a team or in general. Hein, MD8’s coach got the team energetic and excited before the match began to make everyone feel confident about their position. When they finally got on the field Kitty, one of the members of the team, was given the privilege of being captain for that match.

Once the match started Hein shouted out instructions to everyone to help them while they had control over the ball. The team started confident and strong considering some of them had never played hockey before. During the first half the goalie (Faye) let in only one goal and saved three, this was really good because she had never been in goal before. All of the girls played really well, none of them where being possessive over the ball and would always pass to someone if they where not being marked. The defenders did really well marking their players, defending some hard hits and saving short corners. The defenders and goalie did very well saving the short corners, running out to take the ball from the person who had got it, and if the ball came anywhere near the goal they would hit it to a player on the Forscate team.  After the first halve had been played the players all came together, had something to eat and took it in turns to say something that went well or what they could improve on.

After half time was over they all went back to their positions ready for the second halve. They played very well in the second halve. The goalie let in one goal out of four tries. Ines (a brilliant defender) expertly hit the ball away before it reached the D. The attackers took their first ever short corner, but unfortunately didn’t score.

After the match was over the score finished on 2:0 to the other team. But all together the match was a amazing first match, and Hein said ‘i’m very proud of all the girls and their effort’. At the end of the match they congratulated everyone. All in all the girls did extremely well they all collaborated and worked well together.
